Blog Assign 1 Nickel & Dimed

As a teenager-in the 80 and 90's my first low wage jobs were at Burger King & Red Carpet Inn.
Today, much hasn't really changed for teenagers as far as, earning more money per hour to offset college/living expenses for the betterment of life.

People who are well-off may rely on low-wage workers because the low-wage individuals are the ones doing the majority of the harder work (choosing to accept less money) while the well-off can benefit from it. Although, this can be a tough position to be in because everyone wants to have an easier workload but still desires to financially support themselves. Oftentimes one may settle for less in order to just get by the best way he/she can.

Yes, low-wage workers have a chance to enroll in college and move toward another career because once you become" fed up" with the system of working for less...something has to change. So rather than continuing to remain in your current position it may be best to obtain higher education for an improved career. Once this is decided and achieved you can then feel confident that you are better than what you were.

The Department of Labor needs to raise the mininum wage amount.  Since the 80's and 90's there has not been a dramactic increase for people working mininum wage jobs. There are some people who want to improve their lives and become more successful. On the other hand, there are some people who work less but make more money to enjoying lifes luxuries. Which is good if one can attain this status and encourage others to do the same or show them how to get there.
